Who Is Dani Star?

Dani Star (Canadian Idol, Season 5) is a performer / singer / songwriter based in the City of Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

Most recently, in June 2009 Dani Star was approached by the City of Greater Sudbury and organising committee to write and record the Official Theme Song for the 2010 Ontario Summer Games, which is taking place at Laurentian University Track on August 10th 2010 - FREE DOWNLOAD of the song is offered here.

Repertoire:

Along with performing his own songs, Dani's repertoire consists of a great variety of music including country, rock, oldies, blues, and alternative. He often plays at weddings and festivals, and you are most likely to catch him around Greater Sudbury singing in bars, pubs and at private events. He has prooven to be capable of pleasing most audiences with his large repertoire selection, whether the audience be young, mid or senior aged, as he sometimes sings in senior homes aswell.

Bilingual:

Dani Star is bilingual; writes and sings in both French and English. In February of 2007 he competed in an All Ontario french music contest (La Brunante) and was awarded 2nd place for his own compositions. Later that year his french song "Tu n'es pas la seule" won Top Ten in a Sudbury song contest in support of Child Aid Charity. The song has been placed on a compilation album along with other winners such as Paul Dunn, Paul DiSalle, Sarah Craig, Marc Serre, Mike O'Brian and others. The album entitled "Child AID 2007" was being sold across the city in support of charity.

Later in 2007, Dani reached top 50 in the popular television series Canadian Idol, and made several TV appearances on Idol, and ETalk.

Shows:

In the past 3 years (2006, 2007, 2008) Dani has booked and played more than 400 shows, at more than 75 different venues, all within 2 hours drive of Sudbury (ON, Canada). In the summer of 2006 he held a thursday night weekly gig performing outdoors on the patio of a local bar, Shaughnessy's pub (Sudbury, ON). In 2007 he was hired for the summer by Don Cherries Grapevine (Sudbury, ON) to perform every thursday on their outdoor patio. Summer of 2008 brought him a little further from home to Killarney Mountain Lodge, where he entertained crowds 6 nights a week in their Carousel Lounge; very elegant. He has been hired by many bars and pubs, including Cranky Joe's Roadhouse (Hanmer, ON) where he spent a full year performing every sunday evening.

Dani has passion for singing good songs and exciting his audiences.
